About Me
I grew up primarily in Marion, North Carolina and call it my home. I'm a linguist currently based in San Jose, California where I carry out linguistics research within a higher education context. I feel privileged and grateful to have lived in a lot of different places where I've met so many interesting people who have broadened my worldview and (maybe unknowingly) helped shaped who I am today.
I think those who know me well would agree that I like to "dabble" in different areas. That's because I love learning and sharing my passion for learning and pursuing opportunities for personal and professional growth.
Dogs, especially dachshunds, hold a special place in my heart. Kashi (2008-2020) taught me patience and generosity of spirit, and Kona (2021-) reminds me to stay playful.
